NYP: Kartong’s Yuruben Colley Elected Kombo South Youth MP

Kartong’s Yuruben Colley has been elected as the Member of the National Youth Parliament (NYP) for Kombo South following a decisive victory in the elections held on Sunday, 13th July.

Mr. Colley secured 132 votes, comfortably ahead of his closest challenger, Dembo Touray, who garnered 92 votes.


Journalist Fatou Kebbeh, the only female contestant in the race, came fourth with 38 votes.

The elections, part of the National Youth Parliament’s periodic process to renew representation, were reportedly marked by low voter turnout, particularly in Gunjur.


Mr. Colley succeeds Hon. Omar A. Manjang as the youth parliamentarian for Kombo South.
